The Four Nations sees teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland compete against each other at three separate age levels and also to be declared the overall Four Nations champions! It takes place every two years so the next event will take place in 2025.

The Four Nations in 2023 took place at Cheshire Polo Club in Tarporley on the 22nd and 23rd of July and was an amazing event, with our brilliant members and their horses showing off their skills! Full results can be found here.

For the Four Nations, each nation has a team consisting of three sections; one of Minis (12 and under), one of Juniors (15 and under) and one of Seniors. Individually each section can win their age category by winning games and earning points. Then the placings in each age category earns the Nations overall points and these points decide who wins the coveted Triple Diamond Trophy for the overall champion Nation!

As well as the main competition there is the Field Shield. This is designed to judge the teams on their horse and pony care and the way they work as a team with their coach and manager. On each day they are judged on a range of criteria and awarded an overall mark. The highest scoring team at the end of the event wins the Field Shield!

There is more information about the diferent trophies and how the scoring works on “The Four Nations Trophies, Scoring and Use of Players and Horses” Page
