Branches and Centres

Polocrosse is a great sport for Pony Club Branches and Centres to get involved in so why not give it a try. We are always happy to help Branches and Centres that want to have a go!

The Pony Club have a network of Area coordinators around the country who can help arrange a taster session for you with appropriately qualified coaches. Your Area Coordinator and coaches will also be able to provide equipment so all you need to do is provide some keen members and ponies!

Area coordinators also try to organise open Polocrosse training days and competitions for all Members to attend.  So if you are keen to try the sport then please get in touch with your Area coordinator and they should be able to help you.

Coaches

The Pony Club works very closely with the UK Polocrosse Association (UKPA) to make sure there are qualified polocrosse coaches available to Pony Club Branches. The UKPA runs a coach development programme to accredit polocrosse coaches to UKCC standards. Many of these coaches coach within the Pony Club and are listed on the Pony Club coaches database. Your Area coordinator or the Pony Club office should be able to help you find a suitable coach for your Branch or Centre.

If you are a polocrosse coach and want to coach in the Pony Club then you can either get in touch with your Area Coordinator or the Pony Club office. To coach you should meet the requirements for a coach and be on the Pony Club coaches’ database. More details on the coach requirements and how to get on the database can be found on the coaching section on the Pony Club website.

Polocrosse Badges

The Polocrosse Badges are a great way for members to learn a new sport and also gain a new badge! Coaches are always happy to help run a session to award these badges so please just talk to your coach or your Area coordinator. There are two badges, the Intro to Polocrosse badge for when members are just starting out and then the Polocrosse Competition badge for when they starting competing.
