Polocrosse is all about the ponies! You can have the best racquet skills in the world but if you can’t get your pony to go where you need it to then your racquet skills aren’t really much use. So to reflect the fact that they are really our most important players we run a Best Horse and Best Pony league!
Ponies 13.2hh and under (so normally those playing in Minis) go in the Best Pony League and all the others go in the Best Horse League! Ponies earn points by getting “Best Pony” nominations from umpires when they play in matches at Tournaments. Sadly we haven’t yet worked out a practical way to give the ponies points for all the rallies they attend as well but we are thinking about it!
